Septarian nodules as they are more commonly known are unusual to look at and can vary considerably in colour and shape. In contrast to most geodes, which are volcanic in nature, septarian’s are a form of sedimentary geode. They formed on sea beds millions of years ago and, when they dried out; they cracked and formed hollow interiors. The interiors usually become either partly or completely full with other minerals, such as calcite, giving septarian its unusual texture and features. This Septarian specimen is showing a binding agent of Calcite which is the yellow colour. The darker brown lines are Aragonite and the light brown rock is Limestone.

The name Septarian comes from the Latin word, Septem, or seven. They’re called this because when the balls cracked and created their unique designs, there are said to have been seven cracks in each direction.

Septarian has a nurturing and calming energy, reminding ourselves to nurture ourselves, and others; they also encourage us to nurture our ideas and dreams. As they’re essentially a gift from the natural resource of the earth, they can also remind us to stop and give thanks to Mother Earth.

The palmstone or tumbled pebble in the picture’s is the one you will receive.

Thankyou for looking.
